ACTION FOR SUSTAINABLE, EFFICACIOUS DEVELOPMENT AND AWARENESS (ASEA)

 

Welcome to ASEA's eco-tent.  Our presence in this online trade show organized by "Network of Indian Environment Professionals" gives people and organizations around the world an opportunity to interact with us and know more about what we have to offer. In our eco-tent you can find about our services that we are providing to institutions all over the world. About us

 

Formerly known as "Yug Chetna", was established in the year 1986 as an unregistered Voluntary Organization. ASEA is engaged in creating mass awareness to accomplish sustainable and efficacious development, main theme of the society, delight in the society appellation.

 

 In the past, our active members have organized several awareness programs in different parts of the Garhwal Himalaya and actively participated in various sustaining programs like earthquake rehabilitation.  The awareness programs comprehends Famous Chipko Movement, Save the Ganga, Conservation of water and other precious natural resources, Educational programs for self reliance in rural men & women, Environmental education, various other life saving activities, etc.

 

 Our style for creating awareness is special, we always try to involve people from the society to an extent that they will solve their problems with their own which will help them in future, and no longer will they remain dependent and unfit.

 

Apart from the awareness, Society is committed to provide Technical Knowledge and Research based solution to the local problems related to Economy, Environment, Development and self-employment. For this, Society is in the process of setting an educational institute of its own.

 

GOALS

 

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES

 

·   To create mass awareness in the people of this region for ensuring environment friendly development.    

         

·   To provide technical knowledge for developing self-reliance in the rural men and women.       

   

·   To undertake in-depth Research and Development programs for providing easy and firm solution to the local problems.

 

·   To demonstrate suitable Technology/ package/ methods for ensuring sustainable development, good health and safety.

 

· To undertake projects on environmental researches/ EIA, toxicology, wastewater management, treatability studies, resource restoration, social services, women causes and health aspects.

 

ASEA is committed to render appropriate assistance at all the times and at all levels.

 

 

PUBLICATIONS

 

 ASEA's prime means of spreading information are its wide range of publications, conferences, and workshops.

 

Environment Conservation Journal          ISSN    0972- 3099

Publishes high quality refereed research papers on all aspects of environmental studies and pollution control, from any field - science, engineering or medical.  

 

Special Publications

 

Time to time special publications will be published to provide another means of exchanging information. ASEA will consider publication of high quality Books (Authored or Edited) from its members who are not finding the suitable publisher. This can provide a wide publicity to their work.

· Proceeding of the First Regional Conference on Sustainable Ecosystem and Environment (held at Phool Chatti Ashram, Luxman Jhula, Pauri Garhwal ) in 1997

 

· Sustainable Ecosystem and Environment, 1999 (Proceedings of the National Conference on Sustainable Ecosystem and Environment held at Bhuma Niketan, Hardwar in 1998)

AWARDS

 

ASEA Excellence Award

 

Action for Sustainable, Efficacious Development and Awareness (ASEA), Malviya Marg Rishikesh-249201 U.P. has instituted ASEA Excellence Award in two categories on annual basis.

 

First ASEA Excellence Awards were given in the year 1998 to

 

· Dr. G. S. Rajwar and  and Dr. Arvind Kumar Jaiswal

 

Second ASEA Excellence Award was given in the year 2000 to

· Dr. D. R. Khanna, Gurukul Kangri University, Hardwar

 

Third ASEA Excellence Awards were given in the year 2001 to

· Dr. Seema Bhaduria, R. B. S. College, Agra and Dr. S. N. Kaul, NEERI, Nagpur

 

The preconditions for the ASEA Excellence Award are as under

 

· To Recognize Individual's Achievement during his/ her lifetime. The Award is reserved for two Categories i.e. One for Male Scientists and One for Female Scientists.

 

· Scientist/ Candidate should be Life Fellow of Action for Sustainable, Efficacious Development and Awareness (ASEA).

 

· The Candidate may be Associated with any Field of Environmental Sciences / Engineering.

 

· For ASEA Excellence Award the Achievements Made by the Candidate in the past (life time) will be taken in to Consideration.

 

· The Award will be presented at the National Conferences of the ASEA

 

· The Intimation to the Awardees will be given well in Advance.

 

· Award consists of Memento, Citation and Rs. 500 for the purchase of Books/ Journal. The amount may vary on the availability of funds.

 

Best Paper Presentation Award

 

ASEA during the conferences present best paper presentation awards in four categories.

 

Best Young Scientist below 30 years (Male and Female)

 

Best Senior Scientist below 40 years (Male and Female)

Other Awards

 

From the year 2001 ASEA has instituted following four awards which will be given on the basis of achievements made by the candidate / member of  ASEA during the calendar year of award. The award consists of Gold Medal and Citation.

 

· Mansa Devi Memorial Toxicology Award

· Goverdhan Singh Memorial Environmental Education Award

· ASEA Fisheries Award

· ASEA Waste research Award

· ASEA International Environmental Award

· ASEA Best NGO Award

 

Award consists of Gold Medal and Citation

 

The former two awards are sponsored Awards. If any one interested to sponsor or start the awards in the memory of their loved ones is invited to sponsor the awards for the betterment of the research in the field of environment.

 

Former four awards are for Scientist/ Individual from India and fifth award is for Scientist/ Individual from other Countries

EDUCATION

 

ASEA is in the process to establish its own institute with the name of Institute of Applied Sciences, Technology and Management (IASTM), having offices at Rishikesh, Roorkee and Ahmedabad. The Institute will provide education on the following subjects to enhance the knowledge of working/ non-working/ student's knowledge.

 

Environment, Waste Management, Microbiology, Pollution Abatement,Computer Education, Statistical Quality Control in Environmental and Biological Analysis, Personality Transformation, Computer Education, Environmental Communication, Communication, Environmental Audit, Environmental Impact Assessment, Life Cycle Analysis, Bioinformatics, Biotechology

 

Initially the institute will run correspondence courses for the enhancement of the skill and knowledge of working/ non working professionals and students. The courses are not affiliated to any university the Diploma/ certificate will be awarded by the Institute on its own.  

 

Initially the courses will be offered by opening a centre at a suitable place where a fellow or franchisee wants to open these courses.

 

In the first step a computer education centre has been established at Rishikesh, The centre is accredited to DOEACC for "O" level programmes. The name of the Institute is RITZ, Rishikesh Information Technology Zone. This Centre is offering following courses in computer

 education.

 

Regular Courses

 

· Diploma in Computer Software (DCS), Higher Diploma in Computer Software (HDCS)

 

   Short Term Courses

 

· Certificate in Office Automation (COL), Certificate in Programming Language (CPL), Certificate in Web Designing (CWD), Certificate in Desk Top Publishing (CDTP), Certificate in Computerized Financial Accounting (CCFA)

 

RITZ is accredited by DOEACC (Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses) Society, Govt. of India to run its "O" level Diploma in Computer Software programs.

The courses are designed to develop an individual, for their up-liftment in their respective fields so that he/ she can make a successful effort without fail. The course fee is kept Rs. 2000 for a Diploma course and Rs. 1000 for a Certificate Course. The course material will be provided by IASTM.

 

CONFERENCES

 

ASEA, in the past, have successfully organized Regional and National level conferences on Environmental issues at Rishikesh and Hardwar.
