ENO
- A GLOBAL SCHOOL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Welcome to ENO's eco-tent. Our
presence in this online trade show organized by "Network of Indian
Environment Professionals" gives people and organizations around
the world an opportunity to interact with us and know more about what
we have to offer. In our eco-tent you can find about our services that
we are providing to schools all over the world. As institutional members
of NIEP, you have a unique opportunity to recommend schools near your
neighborhood for this program.
About us
ENO-Environment Online is a non-profit program organised
by Eno School District in the East of Finland. It's a global virtual school
where environmental data is shared with participants. Four different environmental
themes are studied within a schoolyear ( Social, Natural, Cultural Environment
and Sustainable
Development ). There is a
special curriculum with weekly tasks
GOALS
* to study to learn co-operationally in web
community
*to deepen environmental themes
in education
* to add global awareness and internationality
* to support sustainable development
* to get developing countries as active participants
PARTICIPANTS (2001-2002)
There are 73 official ENO schools from 43
countries involved as follows:
* Africa: 14 schools
* Asia: 10 schools ( 2 from India)
* Australia: 3 schools
* Europe: 28 schools
* North America: 12 schools
* South America: 6 schools
The age of students varies from 12 - 18 years
old.
HOW TO APPLY ?
ENO is a well-known program in Europe. It has received many international
awards within a very short time. To
expand and strengthen our network we are searching for some Indian schools
involved in ENO. Schools who are interested in environmental education
and internationality, have access to Internet and a possibility to fit
ENO as a part of their curriculum.
At first schools have to apply for ENO. We cannot choose all the schools
but have to chose the most potential ones. Each candidate school has to
fill in our application. The application can be found here:

is a institutional member of "Network of Indian Environment Professionals"
then please attach a letter of recommendation from
NIEP. Check

BENEFITS FROM ENO:
To become ENO School is a recognition for your school. You have been
chosen to study in our global web community. Each student have a login
and password of his/her own. This service is all free to ENO Schools including
all the material, planning etc.
You are a part of active network, get new friends and new connections
to other schools. The first face-to-face ENO Conference will be held this
summer in Finland. These are to be annual tradition!
You have the privilege to study in a highly respectable and innovative
web community. ENO is a very unique institution.
